Puma Party

So it's tough to blend couture and street. But if anyone can do it, it is Alexander McQueen.  Joining Puma for three styles of sneakers inspired by human anatomy.  It's all ribcages and spines and skeletons and the wonderful unexpectedness of style.

These luxurious styles are available online at MatthewIzzo.com or in-store, but hurry, hot shoes have a way of sneaking out of here.

Say Thanks With Style

The History of Mother's Day dates back to ancient Greece. A Holiday to celebrate Rhea, the mother of god's. Eventually early Christianity caught onto this party and began dedicating a day to celebrating the mother church, the mother Mary and their own mothers.  When early colonists came to America they decided they were simply too busy for this excess Holiday so the practice was forgotten.

After the Civil War a social activist by the name of Julia Ward Howe began working to bring a form of Mother's Day back to the social forefront.  Originally her intents were to unite women for peace, but her efforts eventually led to President Woodrow Wilson declaring Mother's Day an official holiday in 1914.

So although your own mother may not be the mother of the gods now is still your chance to take some time and say thank you for all the peace and love and mothering she has poured into your life.

And we are here to help you by offering 15% off jewelry and other select merchandise, say thank you with style and for one day honor your mother for being just that, your mom.

Revisit Puma at Matthew Izzo

The Spring Summer 2009 Rudolf Dassler collection takes hints from modern architecture, specifically Utopian architecture and the idea of stripping a building down to its bare structure. The collection builds on angular shapes, optical illusions, reflection and transparency, playing with the notion of a work-in-progress; which is translated into a clash of old and new that cross references on designs going back to a Berlin of the 1920's. The apparel collection features assertive silhouettes and materials rooted in the sport-tradition styles in a tailored and fashionable way as well as mixed print applications.
